Smart Strategy, On-Track Discipline help Juncos Hollinger Racing Gain Positions in Detroit

Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) took to the Streets of Detroit this past weekend for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand prix, ending 5 straight weeks of on-track action for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

The No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet of Sting Ray Robb lined up in P26 for Sunday’s 100-lap race, while teammate Conor Daly qualified the No. 76 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet in P25. Detroit’s bumps and high speed offered both drivers an arduous 164.5-mile race. In its third year with the current course configuration, the Detroit Grand Prix is a unique street-circuit with its split pit lane, while also boasting the longest straightaway amongst all street tracks JHR visits.

Sting Ray Robb delivered an impressive drive in the No. 77 Chevrolet, climbing 11 positions to finish P15 after starting 26th on the grid. Sting Ray Robb, driver of the No. 77 Chevrolet: “Oh my goodness. What a weekend… The improvements the team made every single session were unbelievable. I’ve never had a race weekend where you can turn a car around so much. So to the JHR team: you guys are amazing, I love you, and thank you for giving me a good race car today. P15 from P26, we had a car to go further than that, but we have to give ourselves a better chance in qualifying…”

Conor Daly finished P17 in the No. 76 Chevrolet after suffering contact on the final restart, bumping him down the order. Conor Daly, driver of the No. 76 Chevrolet: “I thought we were in a position to do a little bit better… Just a tough one overall. I mean we did make up positions which was good. We did improve the car… Obliviously we want to go to St. Louis now which is one of my favorite tracks and where I know we can win, and try to give it our best shot there.”

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES continues its schedule with the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at 8:00PM ET on June 15, broadcast live on FOX.

Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) disputó el Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix en las calles de Detroit el pasado fin de semana, concluyendo cinco semanas consecutivas de actividad en pista para la NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

El Chevrolet No. 77, conducido por Sting Ray Robb, arrancó en la posición 26 para la carrera de 100 vueltas del domingo, mientras que su compañero Conor Daly clasificó el Chevrolet No. 76 en la posición 25. Los baches y la alta velocidad del circuito callejero de Detroit ofrecieron a ambos pilotos un arduo desafío en la carrera de 164.5 millas. Conor Daly finalizó en el puesto 17 con el Chevrolet No. 76 tras sufrir un contacto en el reinicio final, lo cual lo hizo perder posiciones. Daly manifestó: “Pensé que estábamos en posición para hacerlo un poco mejor… Fue una carrera difícil en general. Pero ganamos posiciones, lo cual es bueno. Mejoramos el auto… Obviamente ahora queremos ir a St. Louis, que es uno de mis circuitos favoritos y donde sé que podemos ganar, y tratar de dar lo mejor allí.”

La NTT INDYCAR SERIES continúa su calendario con el Bommarito Automotive Group 500, el próximo 15 de junio.
