Juncos Hollinger Racing Children’s INDY Grand Prix Race Report
Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) faced the challenging road course of Barber Motorsports Park this past weekend for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix.
The No. 76 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet of Conor Daly lined up in P19 for Sunday’s 90-lap race, while teammate Sting Ray Robb qualified the No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet in P22.
Conor Daly ended his day, finishing the race in P19, “Honestly our first two stints felt great. The pace on reds is good. We just need to improve our pace on the primary tire, and we’ve got to figure out the best possible strategies for these all-green (flag) races. It seems like we are just missing a little bit on clear track and a few opportunities there. Honestly, I think actually we learned quite a lot. We have to figure out what happens at the next race. But we will be in good shape when we go to Indy.”
After starting in P22, Sting Ray Robb crossed the checkered flag in the same position, “Good job to the team to work hard this weekend. It was a long day out there. We kept fighting but unfortunately ended up in the same spot. That was just kind of the way the day went. Everyone was on the same strategy. Not a lot of variability. But it was fun to race against those guys. Hopefully we can go onto the Indy Road Course with some lessons learned.”
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES continues its schedule with the Indianapolis Grand Prix on May 10, followed by preparations for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 later this month.
