1 To Go: Top 10 Fight Heads to Laguna Seca for Juncos Hollinger Racing
Juncos Hollinger Racing heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend for the final race of the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES, with Rinus VeeKay back inside the championship top 10 and one last opportunity to finish an outstanding season on a high.
JHR arrives in California on the back of a standout weekend at the Milwaukee Mile, where VeeKay charged from 24th to third to claim the team’s first podium of the season and his first on an oval.
The result moved VeeKay back into P10 in the Drivers’ Championship, 13 points clear of Will Power in 11th. With Felix Rosenqvist 15 points ahead in ninth, there is also an opportunity to move another place forward if things go JHR’s way.
A top-10 finish would surpass JHR’s previous best Drivers’ Championship position of 16th and underline the progress made during a season in which VeeKay has established himself as a regular contender at the front.
The final challenge comes at a circuit where JHR has produced some memorable charges through the field previously. In 2023, Callum Ilott raced from 20th on the grid to fifth, while last season Conor Daly recovered from a first-lap trip through the gravel and the back of the field to finish 14th.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s 2.238-mile, 11-turn layout provides one of the most distinctive challenges in INDYCAR. Its elevation changes and world-famous Corkscrew place a premium on precision and commitment, while the circuit has also shown that opportunities can come from deep in the field.
Coming directly after the Milwaukee double-header, this week takes the team from a one-mile oval to one of the most demanding permanent road courses on the calendar.
The No. 76 Chevrolet will return to the distinctive ampm colors for VeeKay at Laguna Seca, while OIKOS will take a major presence on Sting Ray Robb’s No. 77 Chevrolet for the season finale. The weekend will feature significant commercial activity as JHR closes out a season of continued growth across both its sporting and commercial programs.

“Milwaukee was a fantastic weekend for the team and everyone deserved to enjoy that podium, but we’ve still got one to go and plenty to fight for.
“Rinus is back in P10 in the championship and that’s the position we want to protect. Ninth is also still possible if things go our way, so we’re going to Laguna Seca full of determination.
“We know this is a circuit where you can race your way forward. We’ve done it ourselves in previous years and that gives us confidence, although obviously the objective is to put ourselves in the strongest possible position from qualifying.
“It’s a completely different challenge to Milwaukee, but we’ve been competitive on ovals, street circuits and permanent road courses this season. We want to show that again this weekend and finish the year as strongly as we can.
“It’s also a big weekend commercially. It’s great to have ampm back on the No. 76 and to see OIKOS taking such a significant presence with the No. 77 for the finale. We’ve had fantastic support from our partners throughout the year and hopefully we can give them something more to celebrate on Sunday.”
Track activity begins on Friday, with two practice sessions and qualifying across Friday and Saturday before the Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey on Sunday, September 6. The season finale will be broadcast live on FOX from 2:30 pm ET.
