JHR Makes Noise in Music City
Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES danced to Nashville for the 2025 season finale, consisting of 225 laps around Nashville Superspeedway’s 1.33-mile tri-oval.
JHR ran well at Nashville in 2024. Both cars were in the top half of the field, with one starting the race in 6th and driving to a top 10 finish. This year, another condensed weekend meant another busy Saturday, with Practice 1, Qualifying, and Final Practice all taking place. Rolling off the trucks, last year’s pace proved difficult to unlock initially.
Sting Ray Robb and the No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet ran a two-lap average speed of 199.036 MPH, qualifying in P21 for this weekend’s finale. Teammate Conor Daly qualified the All-American Rejects No. 76 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet in P25, with a two-lap average speed of 198.187. Entering Sunday, Sting Ray’s starting position was elevated to P20, while Conor’s was elevated to P24 following the application of a competitor’s grid penalty due to an unapproved engine change.
Last year’s pace began to show itself come the race. The No. 76 made up a handful of positions on the opening green flag, as Conor’s oval prowess came alive. Working his way up the field, Conor continued to find more speed with each stint, while the #76 crew aced their pit stops. This team effort put Conor in the top 10 as the race was winding down. The No. 76 finished the race in P5, following one final great pit stop and another hard push from Conor. The team’s effort was rewarded further as they were named the Biggest Mover of the race, earning 19 positions from green to checkered.
Conor Daly, driver of the No. 76 Chevrolet: “Honestly, I was just hoping we would finish out there. I didn’t know how good the reds would be on a restart after cooling down, and Scott (McLaughlin) was proof. We both fired it into turn one on that last restart, and we both nearly ended up in the wall with just no grip.
So, to hang on to a top five is really cool. I appreciate the All-American Rejects for being a part of our car. And Chevrolet, honestly, thank you so much to Chevrolet all year. I wish we could’ve ended this year on the podium. This team deserved it after a tough start to the weekend. But it’s good to finish on a high note!
Sting Ray Robb and the No. 77 crew battled with a temperamental car throughout this weekend’s Music City Grand Prix, as the car struggled to extract grip in the opening stints. Come the latter stages of the race, Sting Ray found himself unable to predict how the car would react to the dirty air ahead. This unpredictability meant finishing the race became top priority, which Sting Ray did, bringing the car home in P16.
Sting Ray Robb, driver of the No. 77 Chevrolet: “There seemed to be a lot of chaos and attrition during this year’s finale at Nashville Superspeedway, but that just shows how competitive this series is and how tough the track was today.
Through all of that, I’m happy with this team. They worked so hard all year, and I’m thankful to be a part of it. I know we have some learning to do, but this is going to be a season to build on for sure.
Conor also did great this year, and congrats to him for bringing home another Top 5 which was really fun to see. We’ll take a couple weeks now to rest and recoup, coming back to see how we can learn and how we can move forward.”
Dave O’Neill, Team Principal of JHR: “We came into the final race with positive expectations, but struggled to get the cars in a good window during practice. We turned that around though, and we had a good race with both cars. Conor had some fantastic overtakes, his crew did fantastic work in the pits, and the strategy played out well. Sting Ray also had a great job today, but some things just didn’t work out for us as the race played out. The 77 crew did great with their pitstops though, so it was a strong effort from all sides of the garage.
Now we head off for a break and some time to regroup, but we’re looking forward to seeing the new calendar for 2026!”
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES returns in 2026, heading to St. Petersburg, Florida for the opening round of next year’s championship. Exact date and time is TBD, but be on the lookout for schedule announcements soon!
JHR destaca con un Top 5 en Nashville
Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) y la NTT INDYCAR SERIES desembarcaron en Nashville para el gran cierre de la temporada 2025, con una exigente competencia de 225 vueltas sobre el tri-óvalo de 1,330 millas (2,140 Km) del Nashville Superspeedway.
En 2024, el equipo había tenido un destacado rendimiento en esta pista, con ambos autos en la mitad superior del pelotón y uno de ellos partiendo sexto para luego concretar un valioso top 10. Este año, el calendario compacto volvió a condicionar la actividad, con una jornada sabatina cargada que incluyó Entrenamiento 1, Clasificación y Entrenamiento Final.
Sting Ray Robb, al mando del Chevrolet N°77 de Juncos Hollinger Racing, marcó un promedio de dos vueltas de 199.036 mph que le permitió clasificarse en la 21ª posición, mientras que su compañero, Conor Daly, ubicó al Chevrolet N°76 con los colores de The All-American Rejects, en el puesto 25, tras promediar 198.187 mph. Para el domingo, ambas posiciones avanzaron un casillero por una penalización a un rival por cambio no autorizado de motor, por lo que Sting Ray largó desde el 20° puesto y Conor desde el 24°.
El ritmo competitivo comenzó a aparecer en carrera. Daly protagonizó una remontada contundente desde el inicio, mostrando su talento en óvalos y capitalizando cada detención en boxes gracias al impecable trabajo del equipo del #76. Vuelta tras vuelta, Conor escaló hasta el top 10, y tras una última parada perfecta y una gran maniobra final, cruzó la meta en la quinta posición. La actuación le valió el reconocimiento como Mayor Avance de la carrera, ganando 19 lugares entre la bandera verde y la de cuadros.
Conor Daly (Chevrolet N°76): “Sinceramente, sobre el final de la carrera mi objetivo era solo terminar. No sabía cómo se comportarían las gomas rojas tras enfriarse en el relanzamiento, y Scott (McLaughlin) lo demostró. Los dos llegamos pasados a la curva uno y casi terminamos contra el muro, sin nada de grip. Así que cerrar con un top 5 es increíble. Agradezco a The All-American Rejects por ser parte del auto y a Chevrolet por su apoyo durante toda la temporada. Hubiese querido terminar en el podio, este equipo lo merecía después de un comienzo complicado de fin de semana. Pero es muy bueno cerrar el año así!”
Por su parte, Sting Ray Robb y el equipo del N°77 lidiaron con un auto temperamental durante todo el fin de semana. La falta de adherencia en las primeras vueltas y la dificultad para manejar el aire sucio en los últimos tramos complicaron su rendimiento. El objetivo pasó a ser llegar al final, y Robb cumplió, cruzando la meta en el 16° lugar.
Sting Ray Robb (Chevrolet N°77): “Hubo mucho caos y desgaste en esta carrera en Nashville, lo que demuestra lo competitiva que es esta categoría y lo exigente que estuvo el circuito. Estoy orgulloso del equipo; trabajaron durísimo todo el año y agradezco ser parte de esto. Tenemos mucho por aprender, pero esta temporada es una base sólida para seguir construyendo. Conor también hizo un gran trabajo, así que felicitaciones por su top 5. Ahora toca descansar un par de semanas y volver con más fuerza para seguir creciendo.”
Dave O’Neill (Team Principal de JHR): “Llegamos a esta última carrera con buenas expectativas, pero nos costó encontrar el balance en los entrenamientos. Aún así, logramos revertirlo y tuvimos una gran carrera con ambos autos. Conor hizo sobrepasos fantásticos, el equipo trabajó impecable en boxes y la estrategia funcionó bien. Sting Ray también tuvo un gran desempeño, aunque algunas cosas no salieron como esperábamos. De todos modos, el trabajo del equipo del 77 en boxes fue excelente, así que fue un esfuerzo sólido de todo el equipo.
