Juncos Hollinger Racing Opens Month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Juncos Hollinger Racing heads home to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course for Round 6 of the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, marking the opening event of the Month of May.
The Indy Grand Prix serves as the first chapter in one of the most significant periods on the INDYCAR calendar, with teams returning to the iconic venue ahead of the Indianapolis 500 later this month.
The 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course presents a different challenge to the opening rounds of the season, combining a mix of heavy braking zones and flowing sections, with overtaking opportunities into Turn 1 and at the end of the Hulman Boulevard straight.
Juncos Hollinger Racing arrives at Indianapolis encouraged by the pace shown at Long Beach, where VeeKay recorded the fastest lap of the race and both cars demonstrated competitive speed across varying strategies. While the final result did not fully reflect that performance, the underlying pace provides a strong foundation heading into the Month of May.
The Indy road course rewards stability on the brakes into Turn 1 and a consistent balance through the infield section, where it’s easy to lose time if the car isn’t working well across the full lap.
For VeeKay, the event represents a return to a circuit where he claimed his first INDYCAR victory in the 2021 Indy Grand Prix, underlining his strength around the Indianapolis road course.
Robb arrives off the back of improving race execution in recent rounds, demonstrating stronger pace and consistency as he looks to convert that progress into a more competitive result at Indianapolis.
Orion180 returns as primary partner on the No. 76 Chevrolet for the Indy Grand Prix, joining the Month of May at Indianapolis as the partnership continues to build on shared values of precision and performance.
Connected Solutions Group (CSG), the team’s recently announced Official Technology partner, will also be activating this weekend, with branding featured on the rear wing end plate of the No.76 car at JHR’s home track.
How the Weekend Unfolds
Track action begins on Friday with opening practice, followed by a second session and qualifying on Saturday. The race takes place on Saturday afternoon on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
With a condensed schedule and limited running, the emphasis will be on getting both cars into a strong operating window early in the weekend, allowing the team to maximise performance in qualifying and execute cleanly across the race distance.
Team Perspective
Rinus VeeKay, No. 76:
“The IMS Road Course is a place where precision really matters. The field is always incredibly competitive there, so maximizing every session and executing cleanly across the weekend will be important. We’ve continued making progress as a team, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish this weekend with the No. 76 Chevrolet.”
Sting Ray Robb, No. 77:
“The Indy Grand Prix is always an important weekend because you’re racing at Indianapolis and there’s a lot of momentum to build heading into May. The road course rewards consistency and patience, especially over a full race run. We’ve learned a lot over the opening rounds of the season, and I’m excited to keep building with the No. 77 crew this weekend.”
Dave O’Neill, Team Principal, Juncos Hollinger Racing:
“The Month of May is always a special time in INDYCAR, and it’s great to get underway at Indianapolis with the road course event. It’s an important weekend in its own right, but also a key opportunity to build momentum heading into the Indianapolis 500.
“We’ve seen encouraging pace in recent races, particularly at Long Beach. At Indy GP, with the long run down to Turn 1 followed by a very technical infield section, the balance needs to be a good compromise to keep the car consistent across the whole lap.
“It’s also great to have Orion180 with us as primary partner this weekend, particularly at a venue like this as we begin the Month of May together.”
